Tips for hosting an outdoor reception:
Outdoor receptions are my absolute favorite to photograph! I mean, it doesn’t get any better than watching my couples celebrate with friends and family while our pretty sun is setting in the background. It’s my job as a natural light wedding photographer to make sure your day is photographed well but it’s your job to plan ahead and make sure you and your guests are comfortable.
The weather plays a huge part on a wedding day. Make sure to include weather appropriate accommodations that guests can use. Here is a list that I’ve seen my brides use!
- Fans
- Bins of Bottled Water
- Coffee
- Heaters
- Blankets
- Tents for shade
- Umbrellas
- Mosquito spray is also a big help if your venue tends to have bugs or mosquitos year round.
