Planning For Family Portraits

Family portraits can be the most complex aspect of the entire whole wedding day. Letting your family members know when they are supposed to take photos before the wedding day is KEY to having family portraits run smoothly. If your family members, like mine ( sorry fam!) tend to run late, tell them an earlier time so they can actually arrive on time.

Let your family members know that you gave your photographer a list of groups to photograph and that we have to stick to the timeline. There’s always one family member disappointed because they want more pictures together. But as the Bride and Groom, if you let them know how family portraits are going to work beforehand, your family members will be more understanding. Since we have to stick to the timeline, I love to go around and take those extra photos during the reception to make sure you get a photo with your loved one.
